26 CW  All  Students will read and discuss Imported Words – Words that come from another language other than English, but have been taken in as part of the English language.  Other languages include (French,  Spanish,  Persian,  Hindi, Danish,  Italian, Gaelic, Native American, Roman, Greek, Latin, and Old English)

Journ:  Begin Newspaper project by searching the newspaper for articles, political cartoon, obits, ads, etc that

27   CW:  Students will continue working on Imported Words,  by using dictionaries and entymologies ( or the history of the words), and mythologies of words

Journ cont:  believe are examples of excellence.

28  CW:  Students will do a Writing Assessment

 

Journ:  Students will create their excellence in newspaper project by creatively displaying their examples into a booklet.

29 CW:  Finish up Writing Assessment

 

Journ:  Continue projects.  Samples should include human interest stories, editorials,  etc.

 

JUNE:

2 –CW students will complete vocabulary prac.  GK and Lat roots.

Journ students will complete and turn in newspaper project.

3 Flexible based on testing schedule.  Morning classes Free Reading; afternoon classes BLAST.

4  Testing schedule and awards assembly.
