NDISD Guidance & Counseling Department

As School counselors at New Diana ISD, our mission is to inspire and empower every student. We provide comprehensive support to help students excel academically, develop strong character, and prepare for a successful future. Through data-driven strategies, inclusivity, and proactive guidance, we nurture the potential within each child. Our commitment is to guide students on a journey of self-discovery, building confidence and resilience to embrace a changing world. Together, we create a brighter future for all. The Guidance and Counseling program will include:

Individual Counseling:

Individual counseling sessions are offered to students who require one-on-one support to address personal, social, and emotional concerns. Our school counselor works with students to develop coping strategies, manage issues such as anxiety and stress, and build resilience. These sessions are conducted in a confidential and supportive environment.

Group Counseling:

Group counseling sessions provide a valuable platform for students to come together and address shared challenges. Small group settings facilitate peer interactions, skill-building, and personal growth. Our program offers various group counseling opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students, with topics including social skills development, peer relationships, and coping strategies.

Classroom Guidance Lessons:

Classroom guidance lessons are delivered to all students in alignment with the school curriculum. These lessons cover a range of topics, including study skills, conflict resolution, character education, and career exploration. By collaborating with teachers, we ensure that the guidance lessons complement the classroom curriculum and support the academic, social-emotional, and career development of our students.

Parent and Family Engagement:

We believe that the involvement of parents, guardians, and families of our students is integral to the success of our students. Regular parent communication and engagement activities are organized to provide parents with insight into their child's development and how to support them at home. We also host many family events throughout the year to make connections with families in a relaxed and loving environment. These events help convey support and relationship building with our students and their families.

Our program is built on a foundation of data-driven decision-making. We use ongoing needs assessments, surveys, and academic performance data to determine the most critical areas of need for our students. Our design priorities include early intervention, inclusivity, and a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for academic and personal growth.

The New Diana ISD Comprehensive School Counseling Program is committed to continuous improvement and responsiveness to the changing needs of our students and school community. We believe that every student deserves an opportunity to thrive academically and emotionally, and our program is dedicated to making that vision a reality.

If a parent/guardian has any questions regarding the counselor or student services, they are asked to call the school counselor or one of the school administrators in the building the student(s) attends.
