The New Diana ISD board of trustees met Monday, August 14, 2017, at its regularly scheduled time and adopted a call for an election on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 for a bond to complete the elementary portion of the Robert F. Hunt building.
In 2006 voters approved a bond referendum for the construction of the Robert F. Hunt elementary school. Phase one as it stands now houses grades Pre-K through 3. The district is now asking voters to approve bonds for phase two to complete construction of the Robert F. Hunt elementary so that all elementary grades Pre-K through 5th grades are under one roof. The bond would be for the purpose of adding an additional wing for 4th and 5th grades, a designated activity space, science and computer labs, additional classroom space for growth, more parking, redesigned parent pick up lanes, etc.
